Mr. Arthur Welham is coming from the UK to conduct a Best Practice Forum on Water Sustainability and Management on Wednesday November 11 from 9.00am to 5.00pm at RMIT Brunswick campus
The final outline of the days program is still to be finalized. The Forum is free of charge

Dye House Water Management – Best Practice Forum
Welcome
Setting the Scene – International expert Mr. Arthur Welham, and two guests from City West Water, Mr. Joe Messina, Trade Waste Compliance Auditor and Miss Audra Liubinas, Team Leader Cleaner Production.
Morning Tea (10:45 – 11:00)
Best Practice Insights – Arthur Welham – case studies from Europe and elsewhere. Areas of interest will include: Improving yields; Quality control and recycling processes; Most effective forms of recycling; How to handle more highly concentrated discharges; Re-use of storm water; Disposal of solid waste; Making old equipment more efficient, and; Use of potassium instead of salt.
Lunch (12:45 – 1:30)
Q&A – a brief question and answer and discussion session around Arthur’s presentation.
Vendor Presentations – 2 or 3 vendors will present on their latest technologies, services, and insights into the best practice requirements of the dye house industry.
Afternoon Tea (2:45 – 3:00)
Operator experiences – 2 or 3 operators will present on their recent experiences implementing new water management technologies.
Closing remarks – Arthur Welham and other guest speakers to present their final observations and closing remarks.
This Forum has been organised by RMIT University’s textile and Design Specialist Centre as part of its Dye Cluster Initiative of 2008 and 2009. It is funded by Swinburne University’s National Centre for Sustainability.
